There have been wonderful sightings of the Northern Lights on Skye in late September and early October and this is due to continue all winter. We have just spent a lovely sunny and breezy week on Skye - the autumn and winter can be wonderful - Skye is quiet but the weather can be wild and spectacular.
Forthcoming Events: Valentines Day
Built at the turn of the century as a croft cottage, Green Pastures has been stylishly refurbished to ensure maximum comfort, enjoyment and convenience for our guests. The cottage is fully double glazed and has oil fired central heating throughout.
The lounge is a large room with a huge tilt 'n turn double glazed picture window overlooking the sea. Settle down here in front of the log burning stove to enjoy the views, watch the satellite TV, read a book, or plan your next walk on Skye.
In the newly installed (April 2010) fully equipped kitchen you will find everything you need, from dishwasher, washer dryer, electric oven, hob and contemporary extractor, fridge and freezer, and microwave to coffee maker. There is also a breakfast bar seating 4, so you can eat here too. The kitchen has zoned lighting so that you can set your mood. The room is light and warm, with picture windows, underfloor heating, and a radiator.
The main bedroom has a king size bed and again has large picture windows overlooking the sea - imagine waking up and sitting in bed relaxing with a cup of tea, looking at the sea and the hills - wonderful.
The second bedroom is also lovely and light, with two windows to the rear and side, and twin beds.
The bathroom has been refitted in March 2010 in a contemporary style, and has a shower bath with large rain-shower over, underfloor heating and a radiator, so is lovely and cosy for a relaxing soak.
The cottage has a large hall, and a boot room/utility entrance at the rear where you can store your muddy boots and outdoor clothes.
Outside there is a neat enclosed garden with sitting area, a vegetable patch, washing line if you like to hang clothes out, plus all the croft land which leads down to the edge of the cliff and up behind the house.
There is plenty of parking by the side of the house, and sheds where you will find bikes for your use.
