There have been wonderful sightings of the Northern Lights on Skye in late September and early October and this is due to continue all winter. We have just spent a lovely sunny and breezy week on Skye - the autumn and winter can be wonderful - Skye is quiet but the weather can be wild and spectacular.

Green Pastures is our much loved future home. We hope to move to live at the cottage within five years, but until then want to share the peace and the beauty with our guests. We currently live in a wonderfully isolated farmhouse in between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

We are Bob & Helen Shelmerdine - we have loved Scotland and the Isle of Skye for a long ime, having travelled throughout the Highlands and Islands. We both love to walk, climb Munros, watch birds and wildlife, and enjoy peace, the sound of the wind, and clear starry skies with no light pollution, all of which we find at the cottage.

Bob works as a self-employed computer consultant and Helen is a freelance professional photographer and writer. What better place for a photographer than Skye!
